Wicklow: Thieves remove ATM from Tinahely bank

Gardaí in Wicklow are investigating the theft of an ATM in Tinahely in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí in Wicklow are investigating the theft of an ATM in Tinahely in the early hours of this morning.

It is understood a gang of up to six men used a digger to remove the ATM at the Bank of Ireland branch at around 5.45am.

It is not yet known how much money was stolen in the raid.

Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have seen the following vehicles overnight to contact them - a Black Mitsubishi Pajero registraion 03 CN 712, a Silver Toyota Landcruiser 06 KK 946 and a tractor and trailer unit.

All three vehicles were stolen overnight in Carlow and Wexford and were abandoned at the scene.

The gang left in a dark coloured car towards the Aughrim Road.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. The Garda Confidential Line is 1800 666 111.
