A priest at the funeral of a young road crash victim in Belfast has said Christmas will never be the same for the grieving family.
Hundreds of people lined the streets of west Belfast for the funeral of an 11-year-old boy killed in a road accident last Friday.
Christopher Shaw died after he was struck by a car near a major road junction. He would have celebrated his twelfth birthday yesterday.
His older brother Darren, aged 13, is still in a critical condition in hospital.
The brothers were walking with their father; Michael, eight-year-old sister, Claire, and her friend Emma Lynch, also eight, when they were struck by a car.
Emma later died from her injuries and will be buried tomorrow.
Father Martin Graham said the loss of Christopher had shattered the family’s hearts.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and of causing grievous bodily harm.
