Police investigating the murder of a Scotsman in Northern Ireland today revisited the scene one week on from the killing.

Ronald Mackie, 36, from Kippen, Stirlingshire, was attacked by a mob after a row flared during a disco at Tobermore United Football Club, Co Derry.

After the vicious assault in the early hours of last Saturday morning the victim was pushed onto the road where he was struck by a car.

He had travelled to the area for a loyalist flute band parade the night before in Maghera, two miles from where he died.

A week after the killing, police stopped vehicles in the area and handed out leaflets appealing for information.

Three men have been remanded in custody in relation to the murder. Eight people in total have been arrested by police to date as part of the investigation.

Detectives continue to quiz an 18-year-old man while two have been released without charge and another on police bail.

A man questioned over causing death by dangerous driving was also released on police bail.
