A senior Fianna Fail figure is claiming his party has no chance of getting back into Government at the end of its current term.

Former Donegal South West Director of Elections, Brian Gallagher, says his party didn’t come clean on the state finances issue during the Election campaign in June.

Mr Gallagher insisted the public will not forget this next time around.

"Even though the opposition parties are in the doldrums and will have difficulties resurrecting themselves I still think the present administration will be facing a lot of difficulties on the economic front.

"They are not going to be over with in one budget or anything like that. They will last for a couple of years and that is going to last in people's memories. They are going to be put out at the end of the term now."
