Charlton have taken the decision to suspend the sale of replica shirts following the financial ramifications of their official club sponsor all:sports being placed into administration at the end of September.

The Addicks were in the fourth and final year of their deal with the sportswear firm, who have since been bought out by rivals JD Sports.

However, the Barclays Premiership club have not received the necessary financial guarantees following the takeover, and are now assessing their options.

A statement from Charlton chief executive Peter Varney read: “Within the next few days I am hopeful that the club will be able to make an announcement about the situation regarding the official club sponsors.

“Our current sponsor, all:sports, got into financial difficulty some months ago and following a period in administration were sold to JD Sports.

““JD Sports have not assumed responsibility for the club’s sponsorship agreement with all:sports and as a consequence the club has suffered a significant financial loss.

“In fairness to all supporters, we have taken the decision to suspend the sale of replica club shirts with immediate effect and a further statement regarding replica kits will be made next week.”
