The Spanish government has narrowly passed a €15bn austerity package.
The ruling Socialists passed the measure by just one vote.
The government's plan includes wage cuts of 5% for civil servants.
It also wants to cut the budget deficit to 9.3% of GDP this year, and then to 6% in 2011.
