Hotel worker assaulted after stopping smoker

Gardaí have begun an investigation into an alleged disturbance at a Limerick hotel, resulting from the smoking ban.

Gardaí have begun an investigation into an alleged disturbance at a Limerick hotel, resulting from the smoking ban.

A worker at the hotel is believed to have been assaulted when he asked a member of the public to stop smoking at closing time.

Gardaí were called but the culprit had fled.

The hotel employee was not seriously injured.
