'Terror group' woman flees Kenya

A British woman believed to be the widow of one of the July 7 London bombers has fled Kenya for Somalia, according to a senior Kenyan official.

A British woman believed to be the widow of one of the July 7 London bombers has fled Kenya for Somalia, according to a senior Kenyan official.

The police official said Samantha Lewthwaite was one of a group of British citizens and other foreign nationals who arrived in Kenya last year to plan a bomb attack on the Kenyan coast over Christmas and the new year.

The official said Lewthwaite was in charge of finances for the planned attack.
