Discovery of body in Mayo 'suspicious'

Gardaí in Mayo are treating as suspicious the discovery of a man’s body in Swinford.

Gardaí in Mayo are treating as suspicious the discovery of a man’s body in Swinford.

The body was found in waste ground near the livestock mart. A passer-by made the discovery at around 2pm yesterday.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.

It is believed the man was a local in his early twenties.
