Wexford 3-15 Westmeath 2-14

Wexford continued their march towards promotion to Allianz NHL Division 1 with a strong performance against their Leinster rivals Westmeath this afternoon.

At Wexford Park, the home side burst into a 2-6 to 0-5 half-time lead thanks to a brace of goals from Rory Jacob.

Top scorer Brendan Murtagh (2-7) made a real game of it when he bulged the Wexford net on two occasions in the second period.

But Westmeath's second half fight-back was tempered by the concession a late goal to Model County ace Stephen Doyle.
