Sinn Féin set to retain education portfolio

Sinn Féin is set to take the education ministry again in the next devolved government in the North, it emerged today.

Sinn Féin is set to take the education ministry again in the next devolved government in the North, it emerged today.

At a 40-minute meeting, it was confirmed Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley would claim the finance, economy, environment and culture portfolios.

Sinn Féin will have the education, regional development, agriculture ministries.

The Ulster Unionists will take charge of the departments of health and employment and learning, while SDLP will be in charge of social development.
