Armed robbers tied up a family of four during a raid on their home in the North last night.

Four masked men, two carrying pistols, broke into the house in Drumhirk Road, Comber, Co Down, just after 7pm, police said.

The burglars, who were wearing gloves, bound their victims – a couple in their 50s and two children in their 20s – and demanded money.

The intruders were in the house for up to 30 minutes before escaping with just a set of keys.

None of the family was injured, but were left extremely traumatised by their ordeal, police said.
