Two men were killed in separate road accidents during a 10-minute period tonight, gardaí said.

Two men were killed in separate road accidents during a 10-minute period tonight, gardaí said.

The first incident took place at 6.20pm in Clondalkin, Dublin, when a motorcyclist in his 40s crashed into an exit barrier in Corkagh Park.

No other vehicles were involved.

The man was taken to Tallaght Hospital but died from his injuries, gardaí said.

The second accident happened near Killucan Village in Co Westmeath at 6.30pm.

A man in his early 60s died when his car left the Killucan to Raharney road. Again, there were no other vehicles involved.

Post-mortem examinations on both bodies will be carried out, gardaí said.
