Steve Carrell apologised to residents near his new film set by sending them flowers and offering them food.

The ‘Date Night’ star personally visited 24 houses near the set of his upcoming movie to apologise in advance for any disruption which may be caused by his unnamed movie – including late-night shoots and the commotion of cabling and floodlights in the street.

He also sent them an extravagant bouquet of flowers and offered them snacks and drinks from a stash of treats.

A source said: “People were impressed that Steve, who’s both star and producer, cared enough to consult them – but they got an even bigger surprise the next day.

“A florist truck delivered huge flower arrangements to every home as a token of his appreciation.

“Now it’s like a big block party every night, with neighbours and their kids watching the movie action and snacking on craft table goodies.”
