Sedgefield officials will stage a second inspection at 8.30am ahead of this afternoon’s meeting.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore was content with the outcome of his initial 7am check but needs to look again as a precaution.

He said: “We need to get through daybreak first, but we are quietly confident of the meeting going ahead.”

Overnight temperatures at the track dropped to minus-two degrees, with the going currently good to soft, soft in the back straight.

Racing begins at 12.50pm.
