HSA to investigate fatal accident in Co Clare

The Health and Safety Authority is to investigate the death of a man in an industrial accident in Co Clare yesterday evening.

The Health and Safety Authority is to investigate the death of a man in an industrial accident in Co Clare yesterday evening.

The man was delivering wooden decking to a premises in the Cloghane area when the truck-mounted crane he was operating came into contact with overhead power lines.

The ESB subsequently switched off the power supply to the area and several homes are still without electricity this morning. Inspectors from the Health and Safety Authority are due to visit the scene later today.
