A 19-year-old man had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in Newry.

A 19-year-old man had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in Newry.

He was walking with friends on the Belfast Road early today when a car pulled up alongside him.

A man got out and attacked him before escaping in the same vehicle. Details of the victim’s condition have not been released.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack to get in touch as soon as possible.
