Struggling Nationwide Division One side IpswichTown have fired manager George Burley.

Town have made a dismal start to the season and are currently languishing in 19th place in the First Division following last season's relegation from the Premiership.

They have managed just three wins from their opening 10 games and were beaten 3-0 by fellow strugglers Grimsby on Tuesday night.

They have, however, played two games less than most of their rivals.

Burley has been in charge at Portman Road for almost eight years.
