Belfast City Airport’s Canadian owners have announced plans to sell the facility.

Bombardier said the airport is no longer a core part of its business.

A number of parties are believed to be interested in acquiring the airport and the sale is expected to be completed before the end of this year.

Last week, Bombardier also announced plans to shed another 461 jobs at the Shortts plant because of the downturn in the aircraft industry after September 11.
