The man who was pulled from the wreckage of the yacht in Dublin Bay last night has been named as Philip Daly.

He was one of five people who were on board the Malahide based yacht, the Debonair, when it collided with the cargo vessel, the Bluebird, which is registered in the Isle of White.

Three bodies have so far been recovered but the search is continuing for the fifth member of the group.

The yacht was returning after viewing the Skyfest fireworks from Dublin Bay.

It is thought that some of the victims may have been asleep when the accident happened.

The port authorities have already launched an investigation into the incident to establish how such a tragedy could have occurred.
