Chilean striker Marcelo Salas will be sidelined for two months after suffering a knee injury during a training session with his Italian club Lazio.

Salas, who had enjoyed a run in the first-team since Dino Zoff took over as coach, collided with defender Alessandro Nesta.

Lazio's official website report that a scan of the 26-year-old's right knee showed ligament damage, forcing Salas to use crutches for the next four weeks.
