The Tánaiste and Minister for Finance says he will be unveiling all of next year's public spending plans on budget day in December.

The Tánaiste and Minister for Finance says he will be unveiling all of next year's public spending plans on budget day in December.

Up until now, new public spending was announced on three separate occasions - in the abridged estimates in November, on budget day itself and in the revised estimates in February.

However, Brian Cowen says all new spending measures, as well as tax changes, will be announced together during the December 5 budget.

The Government will also publish detailed pre-budget estimates in October.
