The euro is trading at a 12-month high against the dollar due to concerns about the US economy, according to the latest monthly bulletin from Bank of Ireland Global Markets.

The report says the situation has been caused by the short-term outlook for the US economy and the implication this has on dollar interest rates.

The exchange rate is good news for Irish tourists travelling to the United States, but bad for Irish companies exporting to the US.
