The Irish Farmers Association, the ICMSA and Macra Na Feirme are back in talks at government buildings as attempts continue to secure a new national partnership deal.

The farmers representatives called on the Taoiseach to intervene, claiming the offers made so far to the agricultural community are a "pittance".

Farmers groups say the Government is "only offering crumbs" to deal with what they say is an income crisis in farming.

They are also seeking assistance on funding to deal with farm pollution and a host of other packages to deal with problems in the sector.
