A man was arrested today in England for questioning about a murder in the North eight years ago.

He was detained at a house at Whittleford, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

A second house and business premises, also in Nuneaton, were also searched as well as a house in Stockingford.

The 44-year-old man, who is originally from Northern Ireland, was interviewed about the murder of Sean Brown, 61, who was abducted and shot dead after leaving his local GAA club at Bellaghy, south Derry.

Today‘s arrest is part of a major new inquiry into the murder by police in Northern Ireland and followed a highly critical report of the original investigation by the Police Ombudsman Nuala O‘Loan.
