Gardai have named the mother and daughter killed in a road accident in Co Tipperary yesterday.

Gardai have named the mother and daughter killed in a road accident in Co Tipperary yesterday.

They were 38-year-old Josephine McCormack and her 11-year-old child Maria. They died when their car crashed into a jeep at Monard.

The child's grandmother and eight-year-old sister remain in hospital this afternoon.

Five people have died in road accidents in the past 24 hours in counties Donegal, Tipperary and Cork.
