A curiously satisfying and often very funny film, this … with as daft a plot as you're likely to find.
Living like a sort of time-warped cool dude, we meet feckless, but charming, Griffin who is recruited by a secret organisation whose aim is to protect the Afro-American way of life from corruption by a man with evil intent.
Thereafter, there are plenty of good jokes - and the poking of fun is against Black exploitation as much as Whitey - and an enjoyable central performance from Griffin. It's a satire, and it finds its targets with a pleasing perfection.
