A major search for a missing Co Clare man in the Shannon area has ended without a positive result.

A major search for a missing Co Clare man in the Shannon area has ended without a positive result.

The man, 24-year-old James Burke from Whitegate has been missing for two weeks now, and It is believed he may have fallen into the water in Killaloe after a night out with friends.

He was last spotted near the Anchor Bar, by a bridge at around 10pm on December 9.

But two weeks of land and water searches have failed to find any trace of the missing man.

Water searches are expected to continue tomorrow.
