Dundalk and Waterford United have not made it into the new Irish Premiership, it was revealed today.

Dundalk and Waterford United have not made it into the new Irish Premiership, it was revealed today.

The two sides had been hoping to make it into the top flight of the new FAI National League.

A total of 12 teams will comprise the Premiership - Galway United have made it in, as have Shamrock Rovers.

The news emerged following the findings of the Independent Assessment Group appointed by the Association to examine the affairs of all 21 league clubs.
