Gardaí in Limerick have said they are concerned about an escalation of gang-violence in the city.

It follows a gun-attack on Parnell Street last night, in which an 18-year-old was seriously injured.

The victim remains in a critical condition at Limerick Regional Hospital.

Gardaí investigating the shooting believe it is linked to an ongoing feud in Limerick, and they fear retaliation attacks.
