The Progressive Democrats Party is halting all its political activity from today.

The Progressive Democrats Party is halting all its political activity from today.

The party which was set up to break the mould of Irish politics in 1985 suffered a meltdown in the last general election and decided in November that it did not have a future.

Party leader Ciaran Cannon said the party can be proud of its legacy as a liberal party committed to enterprise and high standards.
