Jack Black has ruled out crash dieting simply to secure a movie role, insisting Hollywood's obsession with weight is stupid.
The portly star, 37, who recently admitted to "selling out" when he made the 2001 comedy Shallow Hal alongside Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, remains unmoved by Tinseltown's preoccupation with svelte stars.
He says: "I don't get hung up on weight. If a director said I'd get a role but I'd have to lose five pounds, I could do that by tomorrow - losing the first few pounds is easy.
"But if someone asked me to lose, say, 30 pounds for a film, it'd have to be an awfully cool part. And nothing's coming to mind right now."
