With an A Interprovincial on Thursday and a number of injury concerns, Munster coach Rob Penney has delayed naming his squad for the visit of Newport Dragons to Thomond Park Stadium on Saturday (8pm).

James Coughlan is definitely out of contention due to a groin injury sustained in last weekend’s meeting with Ulster. The Dolphin No. 8 is not expected to know the extent of his injury until he sees a specialist later today.

Luke O'Dea is also ruled out with an ankle injury while both Denis Hurley (throat) and Ivan Dineen (stomach) are on the sick list and won’t be considered, having sat out yesterday’s training session in Cork.

Simon Zebo is expected to be named in the squad as is Niall Ronan who came through 50 minutes of the A game against Ulster Ravens on Friday unscathed.

Prop John Ryan returned from his successful stint with London Irish and resumed training yesterday with a view to being involved in the A game against Garryowen FC on Thursday.
