Voting in the General Election is continuing today on Ireland's islands.

Voting in the General Election is continuing today on Ireland's islands.

A number of islands off the north and west coast have already completed polling.

Ballot boxes are open today on the Aran Islands and Inisboffin, where more than 1,100 people are eligible to vote.

The islands vote before the rest of the country due to potential problems with transporting ballot boxes in bad weather.

The polls on the mainland open at 7.30am tomorrow and close at 10.30pm.
