The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Royston Brady, has described the ongoing renovation of O’Connell Street as a farce.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Royston Brady, has described the ongoing renovation of O’Connell Street as a farce.

Mr Brady said it was a disgrace that the capital’s main thoroughfare was effectively a massive construction site at a time when Ireland held the presidency of the EU.

The Fianna Fáil councillor said he would be pressing for the renovation work to be completed in time for a planned party on O’Connell Street to mark the accession of the ten new countries due to join the EU in May.
