Thousands of disappointed fans broke chairs and tore posters after organisers cancelled a concert by Metallica concert on the outskirts of the Indian capital.
The Press Trust of India news agency said police arrested four people from the company which had organised the New Delhi concert on charges of cheating people who had waited for hours for the scheduled performance by the American heavy metal band.
Organisers said the concert was called off due to technical difficulties.
Metallica promised full refunds to those who had bought tickets for the gig, which was part of the build-up to the Indian Grand Prix Formula One race in the city.
