Police have arrested a man wearing an explosive belt after two suicide bombers walked into the middle of a street in Casablanca today and blew themselves up.

Police have arrested a man wearing an explosive belt after two suicide bombers walked into the middle of a street in Casablanca today and blew themselves up.

Two other suspects were also arrested, a Moroccan Interior Ministry official said.

The two bombers detonated their explosives in the middle of a boulevard that runs behind the American cultural centre, killing themselves and wounding a woman. The American Consulate and a synagogue are also both in the neighbourhood.

The three suspects were arrested at the scene, the official said.
