A man was re-convicted today of murdering his three young sons by driving them into a reservoir on Father’s Day.

Robert Farquharson’s 2007 conviction and life sentence were quashed by an appeals court in Australia last year, but a Supreme Court jury in Victoria convicted him again today.

Farquharson was driving his three sons – 10-year-old Jai, seven-year-old Tyler and two-year-old Bailey – to their mother’s house in 2005 when the car veered into a reservoir and sank.

The boys drowned in the car but Farquharson was able to swim away. He claimed he had blacked out during a coughing fit while driving.

Prosecutor Andrew Tinney told the court that Farquharson killed his sons out of resentment and anger toward his ex-wife.
