A body recovered in the water off the Galway coast this afternoon is believed to be that of one of two fishermen missing off Omey Island.
A search of the area was launched shortly after 11am this morning when a member of the public discovered the men's upturned currach at Aughrus Point.
The Clifden lifeboat, coastguard helicopters from Shannon and Sligo and an Aer Corps 'Casa' plane were continuing to search the area for the other man this afternoon. Fifteen local boats were also involved.
