Committee gives submission on Groceries Order

The all-party committee on trade and enterprise has given its submission on the Groceries Order to the Government this afternoon.

The committee said the contentious legislation and ban on below-cost selling should be kept.

Trade Minister Micheál Martin is currently reviewing whether to scrap the order, introduced to protect small retailers from being undercut by the big supermarkets.

Critics have said it should be abolished at it is anti-competitive.
