A Nigerian airliner has crashed into a crowded neighbourhood of the northern city of Kano.

It is believed 105 people were on board.

Local residents say they found no survivors.

Nigerian authorities have not confirmed the number of casualties from the crash.

Reports say the plane belonged to EAS Airlines, one of many private airlines operating in the West African nation.

Shattered pieces of the plane and crumbled homes littered the neighbourhood.

The plane reportedly took off from Kano, bound for Lagos.

It crashed less than a mile from the airport.
