Gardaí are investigating after a teenager was assaulted in Limerick city yesterday morning.

Gardaí are investigating after a teenager was assaulted in Limerick city yesterday morning.

The incident took place on O' Connell St, at around 2.30am, when the 18-year-old man tried to stop a fight on the street and was then attacked.

He was brought to University Hospital Limerick with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
