The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to travel to Helsinki today for talks with Finnish Prime Minister Mattie Vanhanen.

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to travel to Helsinki today for talks with Finnish Prime Minister Mattie Vanhanen.

The meeting is taking place as Finland prepares to take over the rotating EU presidency from Austria tomorrow.

The agenda for today's talks includes efforts to resurrect the EU Constitution, as well as plans by Bulgaria and Romania to join the EU next January.

The issue of possible Turkish membership will also be discussed.
