A new EU survey has found that hourly labour costs in Ireland for the last quarter of 2010 fell by 1.2%.
The figure puts the country in third place behind Greece and Hungary.
The survey also found that inflation in Ireland was the lowest in Europe during last month at just 0.9%.
Chief economist with employers body IBEC Fergal O'Brien, said the latest figures are good news for the Irish economy.
