Man arrested after fatal stabbing at house in Limerick

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a 25-year-old man following the fatal stabbing of another man in the city this morning.

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a 25-year-old man following the fatal stabbing of another man in the city this morning.

The 45-year-old victim was found with serious stab wounds at a house on Lenihan Avenue in Prospect at around 2am.

He was rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A formal murder investigation has been launched and the house has been sealed off for technical examination.

A post mortem will also be carried out later today.
