Air passengers here and in the UK are being reassured that travel services are returning to normal this Christmas Eve.

On Sunday, freezing fog led to the cancellation of more than 100 flights from London.

Some departures from Heathrow and London City Airport were cancelled earlier this morning.

The fog is reportedly now lifting and flight schedules are expected to return to normal soon.

The Dublin Airport Authority says delays in London are not having a knock-on effect here but there are some minor delays to transatlantic flights due to bad weather in the US.

Spokesperson for the DAA, Siobhan Moore says passengers should turn up for their flight on time and if they have any concerns for their particular flight, they should contact their individual airline.
