Marcus Bent goes straight into the Wigan squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game with Newcastle at St James’ Park after joining the Latics on a season-long loan from Charlton.

Rachid Bouaouzan, who yesterday signed a three-year contract after completing a £400,000 move from Sparta Rotterdam, will travel, but is not included in the squad.

After making eight changes to the side for the Carling Cup defeat to Hull in midweek, boss Chris Hutchings is likely to revert to the side that drew at West Ham last Saturday, with Antonio Valencia the only doubt with a knee injury.

Team (from): Kirkland, Granqvist, Hall, Sibierski, Camara, Heskey, Kilbane, Koumas, Brown, Landzaat, Aghahowa, Boyce, Scharner, Bent, Bramble, Cotterill, Skoko, Melchiot, Pollitt.
