Justin Bieber is trying to organise a secret date with his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The 19-year-old pop superstar has endured a tough last week, receiving a barrage of criticism for arriving late for his first concert at The O2 arena in London and then getting involved in a confrontation with a paparazzi photographer on Friday.

Justin has now been back in touch with 20-year-old Selena - who he dated on and off for two years - to try and convince her to give him a another chance after being persuaded to by his mother Pattie.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Selena is incredibly grounded and very mature for one so young. She was a superb, calming influence on Justin and didn't stand for any of his nonsense. She is also just as big a star as him which meant there was no ego with either of them.

"His mum, Pattie, has been instrumental in trying to reunite the pair and told Justin to reach out ... The hope is that they will meet up somewhere quiet within the next three weeks. Both have use of a private jet so distance isn't a problem."

Justin - who had to receive oxygen backstage at his O2 show on Thursday - and Selena started speaking again in the past week while Justin was in London for his 'Belive' tour and Selena is in Paris, France, to promote her new movie 'Spring Breakers'.

Selena is yet to agree to see Justin again, but she was following his tumultuous week in London and had been "laughing" at his "crazy" antics.
