Taxi drivers are protesting at changes to the industry in Dublin city centre this afternoon.

There is traffic disruption around Dawson Street and Kildare Street as a result of the demonstration.

Full-time taxi drivers protesting outside the Dáil say it is the first in a series of protests.

Taxi drivers say they will be forced to "ply for hire" with the changes that are being brought in, including the loss of ranks in Dublin city centre.

David Hynes from Sandymount has been a taxi driver for 16 years and he says they are at breaking point.
