Ian Huntley's parents have said they won't be returning to their jobs at a Cambridge school.
Kevin Huntley, 47, is a caretaker and Lynda, 48, is a school cleaner and dinner lady.
The couple say they also fear they won't be able to return to their house in Littleport which has been searched by police.
Their son has been charged with murdering Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
Mr Huntley, who was caretaker at Parsons Lane Junior School in Littleport, told the Daily Mail: "You can't have the father of a suspected murderer being the caretaker of a school with 400 children."
Lynda worked at the same school and at Soham Village College where their son was caretaker.
Mr Huntley added: "I've lost my livelihood and my wife has too. We've both lost our home because it was tied to the job. Who on earth is going to employ me now?"
The paper reports Cambridgeshire County Council says they haven't been sacked.
A spokesman added: "We will have to decide whether it is appropriate for Mr Huntley to return to work at the start of the new term. His future at the school is under consideration but there are other roles within the council away from children that we might consider."
The paper said the council is considering demolishing the house which was occupied by Ian Huntley and his girlfriend Maxine Carr in Soham.
